Wildlife

The forest is more than just trees. It is a complete ecosystem consisting of soil, water, plants and animals. An old, established forest provides a variety of habitats including young plantations, groups of mature trees, open spaces along roads and rivers, streams and swamps or rocky outcrops. These various habitats can provide safe haven for wildlife to thrive.

The links below for more information about the more important or rare species you can find in the forest and about the management and balanced control of wildlife within the forests.
