9th November 2001
Forest Service, an Agency of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, today announced the closure of the upper and middle parts of the walkway leading past the waterfall. This follows from an inspection of the condition of the walkway which revealed extensive corrosion of the 100 year old structure, such that there is a risk of the walkway collapsing into the ravine.
Access to the foot of the Glenariff Waterfall will still be possible from the entrance at the bottom of the Waterfall Trail.
