Precision of three tree height measuring devices in forest conditions

Summary:

This study was set up to compare trees heights measured with an ultrasound device manufactured by the Swedish company Haglöf called the Vertex III with T3 transponder. This device is specifically made for the forestry market. The study compares a Vertex III to a Suunto PM-5/360 and a Blume- leiss to measure total tree height. The study took place under forest conditions with a number of people who had a range of experiences measuring tree heights and familiarity of the devices.
