Novel H1N1 Influenza A Virus - Animal Health
Current Situation

The current novel H1N1 Influenza A virus (or ‘Swine Flu’ as it is commonly referred to) currently circulating in the human population has been confirmed in pigs in Northern Ireland. Given the current human flu pandemic, these findings are not unexpected. DHSSPS have been informed. Their advice is that the findings do not pose any increased risk to the general public.
