What happens to meat from reactors and inconclusives?

Information on what happens to the meat from Tuberculosis (TB) reactor and inconclusive animals.
Meat inspectors will inspect the carcase at the slaughterhouse. It is rare for any problem related to Bovine TB to be seen in the meat. The meat inspectors will remove any visually affected parts of the carcase and the rest of the carcase will normally pass as fit for humans to eat unless another problem is found which makes it unfit. Cattle born before the 1 August 1996 do not enter the food chain and are removed by an alternative system.
