Conditions for approval of an isolation facility

The conditions that must be met to be granted a one year licence for an isolation facilities.

Introduction

The standstill applies to all farms within the farm enterprise and also applies to all associated farms and associated enterprises (including winter grazing).
An approval for an Isolation Facility only applies to the farm in which the approved Isolation Facility is situated. The species for which each Isolation Facility is intended must be stated and the Isolation Facility should be appropriate for the species for which it is intended.
More than one Isolation Facility may be nominated. Specific details of each Isolation Facility should be provided.
The Isolation Facility must have separate access to ensure there is no mixing of animals with the rest of the flock/herd while animals are being moved into or out of isolation.
Although buildings and fields used for on farm isolation facilities must be dedicated for this purpose, this is only for the duration of isolation. It will be permissible to use these buildings and fields for other purposes while animals are not being isolated.
Farms which have an approved isolation facilitiy must isolate animals on entry to the farm for at least 6 consecutive days.
If there is mixing of animals in an approved isolation facility with other animals on the farm, this will trigger a further 6 day whole farm standstill.
