Animal issues with Trading Premises
Conditions required for approval as an authorised Trading Premises in relation to the animals on the premises.
Issues related to animals on the premises
- There must be no possibility of the animals coming into any contact with any livestock that are part of the dealer’s farm business.
- Dealers must have suitable arrangements in place for dealing with casualty animals.
- The Trading Premises will be required to comply with the requirements of animal welfare legislation.
- Dealers must report any suspicion of disease as soon as possible to the local Divisional Veterinary Office.

- In cases of abortion remove other animals from the risk of contamination by foetal fluids or afterbirth.
- Dealers must call in their own Veterinary Practitioner in any circumstances where the welfare of an animal is at risk.
- Any sick animal/animals must be isolated and their bedding destroyed after use.
