APHIS Online - Register Birth

You can register a calf born in your herd by completing the following form online. Once completed you do not need to submit a paper MC1 registration to DARD.
You must complete ALL the information:

After completing the information required click the option “Add Animal”. The animal and all its details, will be displayed at the bottom of the page. Repeat this process to add additional animals.
Check that the information you have selected is correct and choose “Register” to submit the information to DARD. If you need to change the details choose the “edit” option. If you do not want to register the calf choose the “remove” option
Immediately after registering you will receive an email and message at the top of the screen letting you know if the registration has been successful or not. A successful message will be displayed in green, including any status that now apply to your calf. If there is a problem with the registration the message will be displayed in red.

APHIS Online - Notify or Confirm Death of an Animal

You can notify or confirm the death of an animal on your herd using APHIS Online. Deaths can be notified before they have been collected by the renderer or, if the animal has already been collected by the renderer you can confirm the death registration. Once notified or confirmed you do not need to complete a paper MC1 registration.
Confirm Death
A number is displayed in red indicating how many animals require a death confirmation. All animals that require a confirmation will be displayed, in red, in your “Animal Number” list . To confirm these deaths you must select the dead animal number from the list. The date of death, manner and location of disposal will have been entered by the collection agency. Check that the details are correct. Click “Register” to confirm the death. You will get an email and a message on screen confirming your registration.
Notify Death
If you wish to notify DARD of the death of an animal which has not yet been collected, select the animal number from the “Animal Number” list. Choose the Date of Death along with the Manner and Location of disposal. Click “Register” to notify the death. You will get an email and a message on screen confirming your registration.

APHIS Online - Register a Calf Death

Register calf death is used to notify DARD of the death of all calves not yet tagged and identified. You do not have to tag the calf if it is less than 21 days old. You can complete the calf death registration Online. Once registered Online you do not need to complete a paper MC1 registration.

APHIS Online - Herd List

You can view, print or download you current DARD herd list with APHIS Online. The list is always updated immediately after any registrations you complete online.

Your APHIS Online herd list displays the following information
Animal Number, Colour, Breed, Sex, Date of Birth:Animal details recorded upon registration
Age (months):The animals age in whole months
In Date:The date the animal joined the herd
Dam Number:The cow which produced the calf
Sire number:The bull which produced the calf
Status Code:List of DARD statuses applying to the animal
Progeny Details:The date a cow last produced a calf
Regulation 1760/2000:Has the animal breached a DARD registration rule (Y - yes or N - no)
FQAS code:Is the animal Farm Quality Assured (Y – yes, N – no, or number of days remaining before Y is achieved)
Additional information which may be added:
Include TB/BR Test Info – Adds the date and result of the last TB and Br test
Include Export Eligibility – Pick a Location/Reason for export ( Y –eligible, N – Not eligible)
Other herd list features:
Sorting – You can click on any column header (for example, age) to sort , clicking again will sort the column in the reverse order
Additional animal details – If you click on an Animal, Dam or Sire number you will see additional details including a calving history and fully movement trace. You will only see information if the animal is or has been in your possession.

APHIS Online - Point in Time Herd List

You can view, download or print a Point In Time (PIT) herd list, a list of animals in your herd from any point in the past (up to five years ago). The list will contain the animals registered in your herd on the date selected.
Request the PIT list: Pick a date in the past using the date picker tool and click “Request New PIT Herdlist” The list will be compiled and available to view in approximately one hour. You can log out and come back to view the list later

View the PIT list: Choose the “Point in time” function from the main menu. Available lists are displayed on screen. Click on the list to view it. PIT lists will remain available to view for 18 months after they are requested.

If an animal had been retagged, its previous number is displayed in the “Previous Tag” column.

APHIS Online - View Animal Details

Aphis Online allows you to view a comprehensive set of information about any animal that is currently in your herd or has ever been in your herd in the past. You will not see information if the number selected, such as a Dam number, has never been in your herd.
Movement History – includes the herds the animal has resided in and the dates it has moved off. This list is complete from date of birth or date of import, until it leaves your herd.
Progeny Details – Lists all the calves and their details registered to the cow while it was in your herd, not before or after
You can view this information in a few different ways

Your current herd list:
Open your current herd list and click on any Animal, Dam or Sire number. The relevant animal details will be displayed

A Point in Time herd list:
View any requested PIT list. Click on any Animal or Dam number. The animal details will be displayed
Animal Movement Report:
Request a list of animals that have moved in or out of your herd. Click on any animal number on the list to display its full details.

If you are viewing animal details, you can select the sire number or any calf number listed in the details window. The select animal details will replace the current details. The Dam number will return only the basic Dam information, even if the Dam has never been in your herd

APHIS Online - Update Sire Information

You can add or change the sire information recorded against any animal in your herd using APHIS Online. You must choose only one of the three available sire options – Sire Breed, Sire (in Herd) or Sire (other)

Animal Number: Choose the animal in your herd that you wish to add or change sire information
Sire information (Breed): Pick from the official DARD breed list
Sire (in herd): Pick a sire (Bull) from your herd list, if you have one
Sire (other): type the full DARD ear tag number of the animals sire (Bull).
Sire name (optional): You can type a name for the bull used, this is not required.
After you have completed the form, click “Update”. You will receive an email and confirmation message detailing the registration.
You will get an error if you pick or type a sire number that is younger than the animal you wish to update. You will get an error if you type an animal number that is not a valid sire number, for example, a female animal or an animal not registered on the APHIS database.

APHIS Online - Electronic Movement Notification

You can notify DARD of your intention to move animals off your herd to Market, abattoir or another herd. You must complete the notification form, including the the date of your proposed move, list of animals and location. You can create these notifications up to seven days in advance. You cannot create a notification to move animals after the movement date has passed.

Add animals: Click Add Animals to see a list of animals in your herd. You choose an animal by pointing to the number and clicking once. A selected animal will have a tick at the left of the animal number. The total number of animals you have chosen will be displayed at the bottom.

After choosing all the animals you plan to move, click “Select Animals”. APHIS will add the animals to your movement document.
Check the information is correct. If you need to remove or add any animals from the list of animals to move, use the buttons at the bottom of the list. When you are sure the information is correct click “Continue”
APHIS will then check to ensure the animals have no restriction preventing them from moving to your chosen location on your chosen date. Any restricted animals will be highlighted and selected, red for critical problem or yellow for non-critical problem. These animals can be removed if necessary. You will not be allowed to proceed with the movement if there are critical problems, you may proceed if there are non-critical problems, but you must be aware that you may require additional documentation to comply with DARD regulations.
If APHIS detects no problems, you will see an onscreen confirmation and the option to print your paper MC2b and MC2c forms. These forms must be printed, accompany the animals and be given the receiver (buyer) on the day of movement.
You do not have to send any paper MC2 documentation to DARD.
The MC2 forms are PDF documents, so you must have appropriate PDF software installed on your PC to view and print the documents. Free PDF software is available to download at http://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/

APHIS Online - Amend Planned Move

APHIS Online - View Animal Movement

You can display, print or download a list of animals that have either moved in or moved out of you herd at any time in the past (up to 5 years ago). The list of animals moved in will include animals you have bought and animals that have been born in the herd. The list of animals that have moved off will include animals that have died and animals that you have sold. You can choose a start date and an end date, all movement between these dates will be listed with appropriate additional information.
Date Range:
You can use the pre-defined date ranges, Current week, Month, Quarter or year, or you can create your own custom range by picking a “From” date and “To” date using the date picker tool. You must ensure the “from” date is before the “to” date and the “to” date is not after today (we cant tell you what will happen in the future!). The date range cannot be greater than 12 months.
Movement:
You can choose “IN” to display all the animals moved into your herd in the date range selected, including Births and bought animals.
You can choose “OUT” to display all the animals moved out of your herd between the date range selected, including animals sold and dead. If the animals moved off the herd using an electronic notification, you will have the option to click on the E-document number used. A PDF copy of the MC1a page of the E-document will be displayed on screen. This document can be printed or saved.

APHIS Online - Buyer Confirmation

When moving animals into your herd you can use APHIS Online to confirm the details of the movement with DARD. Once you have received the animals and checked the details of the animals match the information on the MC2 movement document, you can Buyer Confirm the movement.
Select a document to confirm:
Select the Buyer confirmation option from the Movements menu item.
Seller Confirmed Documents - All documents which requiring buyer confirmation will be listed if they have been seller confirmed in advance (for example, documents from markets and APHIS Online users). Pick the appropriate document number and click “Set”
Non-seller Confirmed Documents - If the document has not been seller confirmed (for example, paper MC2 documents from another farmer), you must type the document number and click “Set”.

Confirm the document:
Seller confirmed documents – Check the details are correct. and click “Confirm”.”
Non-seller confirmed documents – Enter the sellers herd number, animal numbers and move date. APHIS will check to ensure that the data you enter is valid.

Raise DVO Query

If the details on the movement document do not match the animals you received, you must not confirm the movement. Contact your DVO or use “Raise DVO Query” feature. Enter the detail of the query and click “Confirm” Your query will be sent to your DVO.
