The Zoonoses and Animal By-Products (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2010 Consultation

The Department is carrying out a consultation on the review of the Zoonoses and Animal By-products fees.
Statutory salmonella testing of breeding, laying and broiler flocks is carried out by DARD Veterinary Service to implement EU legislative requirements.  A consultation is ongoing on a proposed testing scheme for turkeys.
The Zoonoses and Animal By-products (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (NI) 2009 provide a statutory basis for the charging of fees for salmonella testing.
The Zoonoses and Animal By-products (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (NI) 2010 will provide the Department with powers to set fees at a level to achieve full cost recovery for breeding, laying, broiler and turkey flocks.
We welcome your views on the proposed legislation.
The consultation will run from 25 January 2010 to 19 April 2010.
