EIA (Agriculture) Regulations
DARD seeks views from stakeholders and the public on introduction of new Environmental Impact Assessment (Agriculture) Regulations (Northern Ireland), or, briefly, the EIA (Agriculture) Regulations.
The EIA (Agriculture) Regulations will implement two aspects of the EU Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Directive:
- They will apply new rules under which certain projects for the restructuring of rural land holdings will have to be made subject to the EIA process.
- They will replace existing Regulations that apply EIA procedures to projects for the use of uncultivated land and semi-natural areas for intensive agricultural purposes.
