Public Consultation on the draft Foyle and Carlingford Fisheries (NI) Order 2007

This Order amends the Foyle Fisheries Act (Northern Ireland) 1952 (the 1952 Act) by providing the Foyle, Carlingford and Irish Lights Commission with the powers to licence and develop aquaculture in the Foyle and Carlingford Areas in accordance with the requirements of the North/South Co-operation (Implementation Bodies) (Northern Ireland) Order 1999. It also updates a number of the existing provisions of the 1952 Act relating to the conservation and protection of inland fisheries and makes a number of minor amendments to the Fisheries Act (NI) 1966 and other fisheries legislation.
Parallel legislation is being brought forward by the Department of Communications, Marine and Natural Resources in Ireland.
