DARD Disability Action Plan

New Disability duties, which came into effect on 01 January 2007, require public authorities to promote positive attitudes towards disabled people and to encourage the participation of disabled people in public life.

Public authorities are also under a duty to produce disability action plans to illustrate how they propose to fulfill these duties.  The DARD Disability Action Plan outlines action which the Department has taken previously and is planning to take in the future in relation to these duties.

We would welcome any comments or suggestions on the draft Action Plan.  Comments are welcomed up to 17 August 2007 although comments received after this will be considered in future revisions of the Plan.
