DARD Research and Education Advisory Panel (REAP)
DARD Research and Education Advisory Panel (REAP) - Decision to Dissolve REAP
An independent review of REAP was commissioned in July 2008. This was tasked with assessing the contribution of REAP in providing expert input to DARD's research policy, the lessons to be learned and to consider the most appropriate model for future expert input on R&D and education issues.
The Minister received the Review report in February 2009 and decided to stand down REAP while she considered the report's recommendations alongside the changing research and education policy and delivery context.
The Minister has assessed the Review recommendations and DARD's future need for an independent advisory body on research and education and has concluded that REAP should be formally dissolved.
