Sheep Price Reporting and Classification
The purpose of European Community (EC) Sheep Liveweight and Deadweight Price reporting is to provide the Commission with average prices that are recorded at representative markets each week. These prices are used in relation to monitoring Market trends and the state of National Farm Incomes and in determining the level of European Union (EU) support measures. Carcase Classification is also monitored at these centres to ensure uniformity throughout the province. Quality Assurance Branch (QAB) checks grading standards.
