Food and Feed Hygiene
The purpose of the Food Hygiene Regulations is to ensure food safety throughout the food chain, starting with the primary producer. The Feed Hygiene Regulations applies to all farms that feed animals and to all farms that produce crops for animal feed. The following publication helps explain the requirements under each regulation.
Primary Producers must keep and retain adequate records in relation to food and feed hygiene. This also includes requirements for Cross-Compliance Statutory Management Requirement (SMR) 10 Food and Feed Law.
Records must be made available to an inspector on request.
Please see the attached links to each record template to print out and use (if relevant to your business).
Alternatively food and feed record keeping packs are available at your local DARD office.
