Veterinary Public Health Unit - Manual for Official Controls
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) Veterinary Public Health Unit (VPHU) Manual for Official Controls (MOC) provides details of the tasks, responsibilities and duties VPHU officers undertake in approved establishments supervised by the VPHU.
These official controls include
- inspection
- verification and audit
- decision making and action to be taken following official controls
- sampling procedures
- monitoring and surveillance programmes
The manual is split into a series of chapters and sub-chapters to limit the size of each file and make them quicker to download.
Details of national statutory instruments may be found on the Office of Public Sector Information (OPSI) website and details of European legislation can be found on the Eur-Lex website. Links to both these websites are provided below.
The last revisions to the manual were published in August 2006.
The version of the Manual for Official Controls below is not to be considered the official version for VPHU enforcement purposes and may contain revoked instructions.
