Seed Potato Classification Scheme

All seed potatoes produced in Northern Ireland must satisfy the requirements of the Seed Potatoes Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2001. Field grown crops are classified on the basis of at least two inspections carried out by inspectors from DARD’s Quality Assurance Branch. All lots marketed are also inspected by DARD to ensure that the Northern Ireland quality standards are met.
