The department, through the Supply Chain Development Branch, aim to strengthen links throughout the whole supply chain from producer through to retailer.  To encourage collaboration and communication, they use different initiatives.  DARD also implements legislation relating to animal feeds, fertilisers, lime and seeds through the Quality Assurance Branch.
