Less Favoured Area Compensatory Allowances(LFACA)
Support under the scheme will contribute to:
- ensuring continued agricultural land use and, thereby, contributing to the maintenance of a viable rural community;
- maintaining the countryside;
- maintaining and promoting sustainable farming systems which in particular take account of environmental protection requirements.
In short, to claim for LFACA 2013 you must:
The rates for LFACA 2012 were £47.62 per hectare in the SDA, £23.81 per hectare in the DA and £23.81 per hectare of common land that is in the SDA or DA. A cattle bonus is also payable to producers who have at least 25% of their eligible livestock units made up from suckler cows or heifers. Payment rates for LFACA 2013 will be announced later in the year.
