Single Farm Payment Scheme

The Single Farm Payment (SFP) Scheme, introduced by EC Council Regulation 1782 / 2003, replaced most of the crop and livestock payments from 1 January 2005. The new scheme breaks the link between production and support. Instead, farmers will have to observe certain conditions (known as Cross Compliance) in return for receipt of direct agricultural support.
