Summary:
Government policy in Northern Ireland is to encourage afforestation on land where forestry is considered to be the most appropriate long-term land use. This booklet provides guidance on the environmental criteria which the Department has adopted when considering whether particular proposals will meet the aims of the Government’s afforestation policy.
