ESA biological monitoring report 1993 (year 1)

Summary:

To evaluate the impact of the ESA scheme, monitoring of specific target habitats is necessary. In April 1993 a detailed long-term monitoring programme was established by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in the newly designated West Fermanagh & Erne Lakeland ESA, Co Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. The aim of this programme was to obtain baseline data on the plant, bird, ground beetles and spider species on a range of study sites within the ESA boundaries prior to the impact of ESA management prescriptions.
