ESA biological monitoring report 1994 (year 2)

Summary:

Northern Ireland has five Environmentally Sensitive Areas, covering 20% of the agricultural land of the province. In October 1992, a long-term monitoring programme was established by the Department of Agriculture for Northern Ireland (DANI). The aim of the monitoring programme is to evaluate the impact of designation of Environmentally Sensitive Areas on biological components of the environment and their management and impact on the landscape.
