ESA Landscape Monitoring Report 2006
Summary:
Monitoring of the ESA scheme over the last 10 years indicates that losses or degradation of habitats or landscape features mainly occurred on non-participant land. In general terms, scheme participants have positively contributed to the overall maintenance of the landscape including important resources such as heather moorland, species-rich unimproved grassland and hedges.
