ESA Landscape Re-monitoring Report 1998
Summary:
Monitoring has indicated that practices such as field boundary removal and drainage and reseeding are continuing within the ESA boundaries. These changes have, however, been mainly limited to farms not participating in the ESA scheme. The ESA scheme is therefore instrumental in maintaining the characteristic landscape of each ESA by encouraging farmers to maintain major landscape elements and preserve vulnerable habitat.
