Seed Certification Scheme

Summary:

Seed Certification is an EC community requirement to ensure that farmers and growers receive seeds of known minimum quality. The Cereal and Herbage Seed Certification Schemes ensure that seeds of a certain species can only be marketed after being examined and certified by the Department. DARD is the Certifying Authority for Northern Ireland and as such is responsible for the administrative and operational arrangements for the Certification Schemes.
