The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) Veterinary Public Health Unit (VPHU) Manual for Official Controls (MOC) provides details of the tasks, responsibilities and duties VPHU officers undertake in approved establishments supervised by the VPHU. This chapter provides guidance on the requirements for Transmissable Spongiform Encephalopathies testing including associated controls on carcases and meat of animals slaughtered for human consumption and associated VPHU tasks.
