Results of the December 2010 Agricultural sample survey of farms in Northern Ireland. This survey provides estimates of the number of cattle, sheep and pigs on farms in Northern Ireland at the beginning of December. The survey also provides information on levels of hay and silage production and sowings of winter cereals. Information, is taken from the APHIS system for cattle and the Sheep and Goat Inventory for sheep – both complete censuses. Other information is gathered from a survey of approximately 5,000 farms.
