Environmental Accounts for Agriculture

Summary:

The aim of this project was to develop an 'Environmental Accounts for Agriculture' framework for measuring and valuing the positive and negative impacts of agriculture on the environment so that an adjustment can be made to the aggregate agricultural income figures as a measure of the sustainability of agriculture. The project was commissioned by Defra, the DARD, the Scottish Government and the Welsh Assembly Government. The research was carried out by Jacobs (in association with the Scottish Agricultural College and Cranfield University) and focused on primary agriculture.
