Recommendations to DARD for a Renewable Energy Policy
Summary:
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is leading an inter-departmental Steering Group examining the potential for renewable energy production from the agri-food and forestry sectors, to contribute to the Government's commitment to lower emissions of greenhouse gases from current levels. This document, published in September 2005, sets out recommendations to DARD from the Steering Group, for DARD's future policy in encouraging the agricultural and rural community to play a full part in helping meet Northern Ireland's renewable energy targets.
