DARD is developing a Research and Development Strategy to establish its research priorities for the next 5-10 years. Between November 2006 and January 2007 DARD held a series of pre-consultation meetings with key stakeholders. Participants were drawn largely, but not exclusively, from the DARD Rural Stakeholder Forum. An informal public consultation was also held during the same period. This publication contains the written records of the sessions and electronic/written submissions made as part of the above informal consultation. DARD intends to launch a formal public consultation in May 2008, which will provide a further opportunity to influence the development of this Strategy.
