Building Capacity of Rural Communities

Capacity Building support is provided through the Rural Community Network (RCN) and 12 Rural Support Networks (RSNs) for community development based activities in rural areas throughout Northern Ireland.
The ongoing focus has been on how to support community development practice through reflection, training and the development of new approaches focused on the needs of the communities.

The RCN and RSNs will provide rural people with the skills, knowledge and experience needed to help them to contribute to their changing community. With the full infrastructure of the RSNs in position, rural communities are well placed to sustain vibrant communities for the foreseeable future.
