Northern Ireland Rural Development Programme 2007 - 2013
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development received European Commission approval for the Northern Ireland Rural Development Programme (NIRDP) 2007-2013 on 24 July 2007. A copy of the approved programme can be downloaded below.
There are four key themes within the NIRDP:
- Improving the competitiveness of agriculture and forestry by supporting restructuring, development and innovation
- Improving the environment and countryside by supporting land management
- Improving the quality of life in rural areas and encouraging diversification of economic activity
- Using a LEADER-type approach
Elements of the NIRDP 2007-13 will be financed from voluntary modulation but these are not reflected in the Programme that was approved on 24 July. The NIRDP will be amended to include voluntary modulation receipts in due course. For more information on voluntary modulation, see the related links section below.
