Northern Ireland Rural Development Programme 2007 - 2013 Policy Documents
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development received European Commission approval for the Northern Ireland Rural Development Programme (NIRDP) 2007-2013 on 24 July 2007. A copy of the approved programme can be downloaded below.
There are four key themes within the NIRDP:
- Improving the competitiveness of agriculture and forestry by supporting restructuring, development and innovation
- Improving the environment and countryside by supporting land management
- Improving the quality of life in rural areas and encouraging diversification of economic activity
- Using a LEADER-type approach
Elements of the NIRDP 2007-13 will be financed from voluntary modulation but these are not reflected in the Programme that was approved on 24 July.
