Axis 1 Farm Modernisation Measure - Eligible Items
The objective of the Farm Modernisation Measure under Measure 1.3 of Axis 1 of the Northern Ireland Rural Development Programme (NIRDP 2007-13) is to contribute to the competitiveness of agricultural and horticultural farm businesses in Northern Ireland. This will be achieved by providing support to existing farm businesses for investments to improve the overall performance of their farm through modernisation under the following six priority investment areas:-
- Introduction of new technologies
- Improved animal health and welfare
- Increased hygiene control and product storage
- Enhanced occupational safety and business efficiency
- Enhanced environmental status (including Manure Efficiency Technology sub-theme)
- Increased energy efficiency
The list of proposed eligible items, on which farming unions in Northern Ireland have been consulted, is subject to change and will not be finalised until the economic appraisal of the Farm Modernisation Measure has been approved by Department of Finance and Personnel. At this stage, DARD will not be taking enquiries on the eligibility of items as this list is not final. The programme will be administered by an external service provider, to be appointed.
