Agri-Food Processing and Marketing Grant
DARD provides a ‘One Stop Shop’ through which all Agri -food applications seeking support for processing will be considered.
DARD will check each application and decide (based on the operating rules for the RDP) whether the project proposed is eligible for funding and the most appropriate funding Axis / Measure under which the application can be considered.
The funding support provided under this grant will help to continue the growth and development of our agri-food sector and improve the economic performance of a sector that has shown good resilience during the recent economic downturn.
Within the RDP there are a number of Measures under which an application may be considered.
Axis 1: Improving the Competitiveness of the Agricultural and Forestry Sector
- Measure 1.2 – The EU Agricultural and Forestry Processing & Marketing Grant (PMG) Scheme
Axis 3: The Quality of Life in Rural Areas and Diversification of the Rural Economy
- Measure 3.1 - Diversification into Non-Agricultural Activities
- Measure 3.2 - Business Creation & Development.
Who can apply?
Only one application per business will be accepted.
The Scheme is open to micro, small, medium and intermediate sized enterprises with fewer than 750 employees in the agricultural and horticultural sectors who are involved in processing and marketing including:
- processors;
- groups of producers who market their produce collaboratively; and
- individual producers who want to process and market their own produce.
In the case of the forestry sector the Scheme is limited to micro enterprises.
Please note that applications considered under Axis 3 of the RDP will be restricted to farm businesses and micro - sized enterprises.
What funding is available?
The level of grant aid will vary depending on the size and turnover of the enterprise. The maximum grant payable under Axis 1 is at a rate of 40% of eligible costs subject to a maximum of £500,000.
Under Axis 3, grant is paid at a rate of up to 50% of eligible costs subject to a maximum of £50,000.
