Innovation Fund Delivery Plans 2008-2011
In March 2007 the UK and Irish Governments announced funding support to stimulate innovation activity within Northern Ireland. The funding, amounting to £90 million over the CSR period, will complement the EU’s 2007-2019 Competitiveness Programme which has allocated some £140 million to innovation. This new funding initiative provides assistance to a range of projects which have a clear commercial focus and is to be taken forward under five measures or strands. These are Innovation and Stimulation; Research & Innovation Capacity; International Collaboration; New /Emerging Technologies; and Energy.
DARD received funding for five “Innovation Fund” programmes in Budget 2007 as follows:
