Our aim is to reduce the risk to life and damage to property from flooding from rivers and the sea and to undertake watercourse and coastal flood management in a sustainable manner.

Our vision is to manage flood risk to facilitate the social, economic and environmental development of Northern Ireland.

To achieve our aim and vision, we will take forward the delivery of flood risk management in accordance with 'Living with Rivers and the Sea'. This is the Government’s Response to the Independent Flood Management Policy Review (2008).
