Nursery stock unit

The Nursery Stock Unit (N.S.U.) comprises a propagation house, growing on tunnels(for liners and accelerated growing), shade tunnel, standing out areas (including capillary sand bed irrigation) and 'Ebb and Flood' irrigation system (covered and outdoor).

There are also equipment/materials stores and a dedicated potting shed.

Plant production in the N.S.U. is allied directly to course content at national Certificate, National Diploma and Higher national Diploma levels. Short technical courses for training of industry members can also be organised using the Unit's facilities.

Plants from the N.S.U. are used in college grounds development and for student retail training work through specified sales events.
