Countryside Management

Countryside Management Unit exists to develop, deliver Agri-environment Schemes and initiatives that will enhance the environment.
Agri-environment schemes are part of the N Ireland Rural Development Programme 2007-2013Link to external website
The aims are to restore farmland biodiversity, improve the quality of water, air and soil, enhance the landscape, and help mitigate climate change.
Agri-environment schemes:
NICMS and OFS are currently closed to application.

The Guide to Land EligibilityLink to external website publication applies to all agri-environment schemes in addition to the Single Farm Payment and Less Favoured Area Compensatory Allowances (LFACA) Schemes. Countryside Management is also responsible for compliance and inspections of land eligibility, Cattle Identification, Single Farm Payment, Less Favoured Area Compensatory Allowance, in addition to Agri-environment schemes.
