Waste Management Regulations (NI) 2006

The introduction of the Farm Waste Regulations on 31 July 2006 will require many farmers to change their current practice in relation to waste disposal.  

EHS is producing a detailed guidance book for farmers and this will be available at DARD offices in late August / early September.  In the meantime it may be found at www.ehsni.gov.uk under the ‘News’ heading.  The guidance booklet deals with issues such as waste types, restrictions on disposal and how to register for exemptions.

Further waste management guidance for farmers will be contained in the revised Code of Good Agricultural Practice.
