Training Programme linked to Agri-environment Scheme participation
Farmers who have joined one of Department of Agriculture and Rural Development’s (DARD) agri-environment schemes since 2004 have agreed to participate in a training programme. Participants in the Countryside Management Scheme or Environmentally Sensitive Areas Scheme will attend 3 half-day workshops, which are approved by DARD. The topics that will be covered are:
- Cross Compliance
- Field Boundary Management
- Dealing with Farm Wastes
The workshops have been designed to help participants understand the various requirements of the schemes. The workshop called ‘Dealing with Farm Wastes’ provides clear guidelines on how to draw up a Farm Waste Management Plan for their farm, which is a requirement for all participants in agri-environment schemes.
Workshops are delivered by farmers for farmers and they are designed to be informative, practical and enjoyable.
If you have joined a scheme since 2004, you will receive dates for your training programme through the post in due course.
