Renewables
The first step in this is to look at the energy efficiency of your unit to identify savings that can be made by doing things differently. Once these savings have been made then the renewable energy options can be considered.
At CAFRE work is ongoing to improve the energy efficiency of the farms and the campus generally. A number of renewable energy technologies have been installed including wind, biomass and solar hot water. Practical experience has been gained through these activities and useful lessons learned.
