Animal Health Challenge for Sheep Farmers

In lowland and upland benchmarked flocks, veterinary and medicine costs for the top 25 percent were 60 percent of those of the bottom 25 percent of the flocks.
This is only the direct costs of poor health. Higher levels of disease can lead to reduced animal performance and require more labour to manage. Healthy sheep are more productive, profitable and consumers want food produced from healthy animals.
