High Forage Project
The Greenmount Campus Milk from Forage project focuses on improving business competitiveness of dairy farms through more efficient use of grazed grass and silage. This project includes the High Forage Herd and twelve commercial farms (THE 4500 CLUB) across Northern Ireland from which benchmarking data is obtained.
The High Forage Herd is managed in partnership with Richardsons Fertilizers to demonstrate the skills necessary to utilise the full potential of grazed grass and high quality silage. The project is also utilised to provide valuable information for the Greenmount Campus Grass Challenge for Dairy Farmers.
