High Forage Herd Replacements
Genetic evaluations are expressed as Predicted Transmitting Abilities (PTA's). PTA's are a measure of genetic merit and can be used to select superior animals for breeding to improve the genetic merit of the herd. PTA's for production indicate the amount of milk, fat and protein and the percentage of fat and protein which an animal is predicted to pass on to its progeny.
