Premium Milk Project

The Greenmount Campus Premium Milk Project focuses on improving business competitiveness of dairy farms by increasing the quantity and quality of milk protein in a cost effective manner.
The Premium Milk Herd is managed in Partnership with John Thomspon and Sons LtdLink to external website to demonstrate how feeding breeding and management can improve milk quality, both in terms of protein and butterfat content, and in terms of hygienic quality through low TBC and SCC contents. In conjunction with Loughry Campus, constituent quality is also being evaluated in terms of product yield for milk processing.
