dunnhumby market intelligence
DARD are funding a number of studies through the University of Ulster with the dunnhumby Academy of Consumer Research.
The dunnhumby Academy provides a mechanism for NI farmers and farmer controlled businesses to access customer information and market intelligence gathered from 1.4 million supermarket shoppers, representing 40 percent of UK households.
The project was launched earlier this year at a workshop concentrating on the beef market and has since had workshops on the pigmeat and dairy markets. It is planned to examine the poultry, cereal and apple markets later this year.
The aim of the project is to deliver market intelligence to farmers and small / medium food processors, helping them to make better business decisions and compete more effectively in the marketplace.
