Yahoo discussion group
The Orgfarmnet and Orgvegnet discussion lists have been closed down as the computer program they ran on was old and not functioning properly.
However, they have been replaced by a Yahoo Group which is also called Orgfarmnet.
There are two stages to joining the group.
1. If you are not already a Yahoo Groups member join Yahoo Groups by going to http://groups.yahoo.com
and clicking on ‘Sign Up’.
Then follow the instructions to register. It is simple and only takes a couple of minutes.
Then follow the instructions to register. It is simple and only takes a couple of minutes.
2. Then, send an email to orgfarmnet-subscribe@yahoogroups.com requesting to join the group, giving your name, an indication of where you live, and what your interest in organic is.
The group ‘owner’ will check that you meet the application criteria which are:
- Having a genuine interest in commercial organic production
- Location - climatically similar to the British Isles
If you meet the criteria, the group ‘owner’ will approve your application, and you will receive an email telling you so.
Once you are registered onto Yahoo Groups and Orgfarmnet, the group can be used in many ways, but you may simply wish to use it to send and receive emails to group members as with the old Orgfarmnet.
To do so you simply send an email to orgfarmnet@yahoogroups.co.uk
All email sent to the Orgfarmnet group will be automatically forwarded to all group members.
There are strict rules governing how the group may be used, and you will receive a copy by email once you have joined the group.
