Yahoo discussion group – helping local organic farmers

CAFRE has initiated an email discussion list as a Yahoo Group called Orgfarmnet.
It can be used to discuss topical and technical items about organic farming, and for offering, or seeking, for example, organic calves or feed for sale.
To become a member of the discussion group you have to do two things on your computer.
For your security the Group Owner, Adrian Saunders, cannot just sign you up to this, you have do this yourself …. or get someone to do it for you on your computer.  Instructions are given below.
There are two stages to joining the group.
1. If you are not already a Yahoo Groups member join Yahoo Groups by going to http://groups.yahoo.comLink to external website and clicking on ‘Sign Up’.
Then follow the instructions to register. It is simple and only takes a couple of minutes.
2. Then, send an email to  orgfarmnet-subscribe@yahoogroups.comLink to external website  requesting to join the group, giving your name, an indication of where you live, and what your interest in organic is.
The group ‘owner’ will check that you meet the application criteria which are:
  • Having a genuine interest in commercial organic production
  • Location - climatically similar to the British Isles
If you meet the criteria, the group ‘owner’ will approve your application, and you will receive an email telling you so.
Once you are registered onto Yahoo Groups and Orgfarmnet, the group can be used in many ways, but you may simply wish to use it to send and receive emails to group members.
To do this (once you are a member of the Group) you simply send an email to orgfarmnet@yahoogroups.co.uk
All email sent to the Orgfarmnet group will be automatically forwarded to all group members.
There are strict rules governing how the group may be used, and you will receive a copy by email once you have joined the group.
