Young Farmers approve the new look APHIS Online
Representatives from the YFCU (Young Farmers Clubs of Ulster) were recently given a preview of the improvements made to APHIS Online. They all agreed that the new features would help make it easier for herd owners to manage their herd records online.
Existing users of APHIS Online will also have noticed that we have improved some of the features. The aim is to make processes such as registering animals, creating movement documents or viewing your herd list, as easy as possible. We have taken on board comments and ideas from our users and made their suggested changes so all users can benefit from the improved features.
Caroline Sherrard from Lylehill YFC said “APHIS Online was always easy to use but it is now even easier. All the information is at your finger tips and registering births and deaths online could not be simpler.”

Lylehill YFC members Caroline Sherrard and John Healy discuss the new look APHIS Online with Michael Reid, Chief Executive of YFCU and Jonathan McFerran, DARD Online Services Manager
Some of the new features include:

- You can now see the details of your calves before you send the information to DARD.
- You will see all the statuses your newborn calf receives in the confirmation message
- You can edit the calf’s details before you submit the information to DARD.
Herd list
- You can view full animal details by clicking on any of your animals in the herd list, including the Dam and Sire.
- The age (months) of each animal has been added to your herd list
Animal Movement
- Fewer steps to produce a movement document
- Easier to find the tag number of the animal you wish to add (just type the first three numbers)
- APHIS will count the number of animals you have selected
Nitrates Information
